Terms of Use

These terms apply whenever Lawndale Residents Directory is used. Accessing the pages means the terms are accepted; anyone who does not agree should leave the reference and use the relevant custodian’s service instead.

1. The Nature of This Reference

Lawndale Residents Directory is privately operated. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and historical collections that may show who lives or has lived in Lawndale, California. Examples include the Los Angeles County Assessor Portal, the RR/CC Recorder hub, and LAPL’s digitized directories. It does not host a government record and is not connected to City Hall, Los Angeles County, a state agency, a court, a library, or another custodian.

2. Lawful Ways to Use It

Use the pages only for lawful personal research, family history, civic understanding, reconnecting, and similar purposes. You may not use the reference or anything reached through it to:

  • stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm anyone;
  • locate a person protected by a restraining or protective order;
  • commit identity theft, fraud, impersonation, or another offense;
  • make a decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act;
  • scrape, copy, or republish pages at scale; or
  • interfere with the operation or security of the service.

3. No Consumer Report

Lawndale Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 and following. The material here, and results returned by linked tools, are not consumer reports. They may not be used to judge eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.

4. Linked Services

County and state portals, library databases, archives, and sponsored tools set their own terms, fees, privacy practices, and availability. Lawndale Residents Directory does not control or guarantee those outside services.

5. No Promise of Accuracy

The reference is provided as is and as available. No warranty is made that a page is complete, current, or error-free, or that an external portal will work or return a correct result. Public records, fees, coverage, and links can change.

6. Limits of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages connected with use of this reference or an outside resource, including a decision made from a record found through it.

7. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from misuse of the pages or violation of these terms.

8. Original Material

The original writing, layout, design, logo, and arrangement belong to the operators or their licensors. Linking to a page and quoting a brief attributed excerpt is welcome. Republishing a full page or copying the collection systematically is not permitted.

9. Revisions

The operators may revise these terms by posting a replacement version. Continuing to use the reference after a revision means the new terms are accepted.

10. Access Restrictions

Access may be blocked or limited for a user who abuses the reference, violates these terms, attacks its security, or uses it for unlawful purposes. The operators may take that step without advance notice.

11. California Law

California law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Public-record references are informed by the California Public Records Act, Government Code section 7920.000 and following. California consumer privacy matters are addressed by the Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code section 1798.100 and following, as amended, where applicable.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force.
